EGR and Intake Manifold Cleaning

We recommend on car cleaning of the intake system every 40,000 km. The EGR system recirculates exhaust gases back through the engine via the intake manifold to reduce engine emissions and when combined with the oil vapours which are also returned through the intake manifold from the crankcase breather to reduce emissions causes a build-up of carbon and sludge which if un-serviced will block the intake system causing loss of power, poor fuel economy and engine fault codes. There comes a point where on car cleaners cannot break down the extreme build-up and the only option is to remove the EGR valve, intake manifold and inlet components and clean them using chemicals and pressure washers to return the components to an as new condition, getting your vehicle back on the road and running better than ever. Catch cans are a method of containing the oil vapour before entering the intake system, thus reducing the amount of oil entering the intake and causing this build up.
